Woody Allen sues American Apparel

Woody Allen is mighty miffed with American Apparel for using his image without consent. Revered director Allen is looking for compensation believed to be around $10 million dollars.

American Apparel are claiming that Woody doesn't have a reputation to ruin, I'd have to disagree. But importantly to use one's image for commercial gain is illegal, in this economic situation American Apparel have made what looks like a calculated decision which may or may not pay off.

Considering all the hype this is causing I'm sure it would have cost the clothing company more $10m had they had solicited his face for an official campaign, a picture of the very odd looking advert can be found on the Insider's website.

I hope Woody Allen does get the pay-out though - he has moving making dreams that need funding.
